Last night I performed at the Dance Festival held at UNLV, which was awesome by the way! My dance teacher hand selected only six girls to perform a small dance ensemble. The five girls that I had been working on this piece with were complete strangers to me, but by the time of our performance we literally became the closest of friends. We were the smallest group there, other schools just brought their dance teams and/or large, twenty-five student dance classes. We performed a modern piece based on frustration and angst. It was very different but not the least bit difficult.
The day before yesterday we ran a rehersal and judication. I was so excited to perform at the actual showcase because our comments from the judicator were unbelieveable. We recieved a two out of a five point scale, one being the highest. As a dancer your goal is to tell a story; our judicator understood exactly what we had been trying to portray, which was being frustrated at the fact that you couldn't do anything right but you still persevere and are not afraid to take on anything else reality has to throw at you. I will never forget his quote about our piece...

"Do it out there and people think you're crazy, but do it on a stage and people call it art."

I love that nervous, butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling right before you get on stage. It just makes it a whole lot more worthwhile when you end knowing that you did your absolute best. The show was great and I actually got to watch the second act! A few of my friends came as well, which really meant a lot. Thanks. =) After the show we all went to go grab a bite to eat at Inn and Out. Now that was my Wednesday! Oh, and the weather was lovely that night too. =)

Stephanie's birthday is coming up. Thursday, July 13th. I went to the mall to get her gift today. I hope she likes it. Agh, I'll probably end up going to get her something else. Lol. I was supposed to watch Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest but it was getting kinda late. I saw Bao and Germay at the mall too. After the mall we went back to my house. Just hung out there for a while then went to Tea Planet then went home. Steph's grounded, that sucks. Freddy's going to California for two days. Then he's off to summer school. - Andrea
